Why the name
Read it out loud: the eighth seat. Seven seats do the work and carry the worry. The eighth is yours, last in line for the work, with the final word on what ships.
The spelling is on purpose. So is the order. We don't want a team that replaces the founder. We want one that does everything up to the point where only the founder should decide.
What we believe
Your code is yours. The work runs on your machine. We store the board, never the code.
Your subscription is enough. The team runs through the AI CLI you already pay for. We add no markup on usage, and one flat price covers every seat.
Trust is the product. Nothing is merged, released or posted without your approval. The retry cap is three. When something can't be done yet, we say so.
Plain beats clever. Short summaries, real tests, a diff you can read.
