Connect ChatGPT

Last checked 20 October 2026. ChatGPT's menus move, and custom MCP servers depend on your plan and workspace settings. If a label below doesn't match, look for Plugins or Apps in ChatGPT's settings.

Plan in a ChatGPT chat, then ask ChatGPT to put the plan on your board. The tickets arrive as drafts. Nothing starts until you accept them on the board.

What you need

• A Eigthseat account. Sign in at app.eigthseat.com once before you connect.
• A ChatGPT plan that lets you add custom MCP servers. In a workspace, your admin may need to allow them.

Add Eigthseat

• Open chatgpt.com/plugins.
• Click +, then Add custom MCP server.
• Name: Eigthseat. Description: "Turns a plan into draft tickets on my board."
• Under Connection, enter the server URL https://app.eigthseat.com/mcp.
• For authentication, choose OAuth. Read the warning and select I understand and want to continue.
• Select Create as a plugin. ChatGPT shows the four Eigthseat tools it found.
• Install it. ChatGPT opens a Eigthseat page: sign in, check what ChatGPT will be allowed to do, and approve.

Use it in a chat

• Start a new chat, type @ and pick Eigthseat.
• Talk the plan through. When it's ready, say something like: "Put this plan on my Eigthseat board as a new project called Recipes."
• ChatGPT replies with how many draft tickets it added and a review link.
• Open the link. Your drafts are under Imported plans. Accept the ones you want; the PM seat grooms them from there.

What ChatGPT can and can't do

• Can: list your projects, read a project's status, create a draft plan, and add draft tickets to a project.
• Can't: accept, move, start or delete a ticket, or touch your code or your machines. Those stay with you.
• We never receive your chat. We only store the plan fields ChatGPT sends when you ask it to: the goal, the brief and the draft tickets.

Remove it

Remove the Eigthseat plugin at chatgpt.com/plugins. ChatGPT can't reach your board after that. You can also revoke it from our side: in Eigthseat, open Connected apps (app.eigthseat.com/connected-apps) and click Revoke. It stops at its next request.

No custom MCP servers on your plan?

Copy the plan from your chat and paste it into Import a plan on the Projects page. The PM seat on your machine turns it into draft tickets the same way.
