Connect Claude

Plan in a Claude chat, then ask Claude to put the plan on your board. The tickets arrive as drafts. Nothing starts until you accept them on the board.

What you need

• A Eigthseat account. Sign in at app.eigthseat.com once before you connect.
• Claude on the web or the desktop app. Any plan works. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.
• On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector for the organization first (below).

Add the connector (Pro, Max or Free)

• In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
• Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
• Name: Eigthseat.
• Server URL: https://app.eigthseat.com/mcp. Click Continue.
• Keep the sign-in Claude detects (OAuth) and choose Sign in now. Leave request headers empty. Click Add.
• Claude opens a Eigthseat page. Sign in, check what Claude will be allowed to do, and approve.

Team or Enterprise

An owner opens Organization settings, then Connectors, clicks Add, chooses Custom, then Web, and enters the same name and URL. Each member then opens Customize, then Connectors, finds Eigthseat and clicks Connect to sign in with their own Eigthseat account.

Use it in a chat

• Click + at the lower left of the chat box, open Connectors, and turn Eigthseat on for this chat.
• Talk the plan through as usual. When it's ready, say something like: "Put this plan on my Eigthseat board as a new project called Recipes."
• Claude replies with how many draft tickets it added and a review link.
• Open the link. Your drafts are under Imported plans. Accept the ones you want; the PM seat grooms them from there.

What Claude can and can't do

• Can: list your projects, read a project's status, create a draft plan, and add draft tickets to a project.
• Can't: accept, move, start or delete a ticket, or touch your code or your machines. Those stay with you.
• We never receive your chat. We only store the plan fields Claude sends when you ask it to: the goal, the brief and the draft tickets.

Remove it

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and click Remove next to Eigthseat (or use the three dots). Claude can't reach your board after that. You can also revoke it from our side: in Eigthseat, open Connected apps (app.eigthseat.com/connected-apps) and click Revoke. It stops at its next request.

If it doesn't work

• Claude says it can't connect: check the URL is exactly https://app.eigthseat.com/mcp, then remove the connector and add it again.
• "Project not found": ask Claude to list your projects first, or name a new project.
• No connector in your chat: turn it on for that chat from the + menu; it's off by default in new chats.
